Makran Coastal Highway Accident Near Ormara Leaves 10 died and 35 Injured

At least 10 people were killed and around 35 others injured in a tragic traffic accident on the Makran Coastal Highway near Ormara early Saturday morning.

According to officials, the accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. near Hadd Goth, about 20 kilometers from Ormara city. A passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Jiwani reportedly crashed due to high speed, causing the driver to lose control. The bus skidded off the road and overturned, resulting in heavy casualties.

The crash was so severe that several passengers died at the scene, while dozens sustained injuries of varying nature. Rescue teams and police rushed to the site immediately after receiving information and shifted the injured and the deceased to a nearby hospital in Ormara for emergency treatment.

Hospital authorities confirmed that several injured passengers are in critical condition. Police said preliminary investigations suggest overspeeding as the main cause of the accident, while further inquiry is in progress.

Following the incident, traffic flow on the Makran Coastal Highway was disrupted for some time but was later restored after clearance operations.
